Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, alongside other officials in this country, led a pro-Palestinian march in Havana, Cuba, where Thousands of Cubans gathered to express their solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and to condemn Israel's military actions.

Hawzah News Agency- Among the demonstrators were around 250 Palestinian medical students residing in Cuba, who carried a banner reading "Long live free Palestine." President Diaz-Canel and the two other officials wore traditional keffiyeh scarves during the event.

Michel Marino, a 20-year-old international relations student, told AFP, “We are here to support the just claim of the Palestinian people, for their sovereignty, their freedom … and against the genocidal crusade that Israel practices towards the Palestinian people.”

Mohammed Suwan, a Palestinian student in Cuba, addressed the crowd, saying that “the world remains paralyzed and unable to stop this tragedy” in Gaza and the West Bank.

Originally scheduled for October 7, marking the anniversary of the Gaza war, the march was delayed due to Hurricane Milton, which recently struck Cuba and Florida.

It is worth mentioning Cuba severed diplomatic ties with Israel in 1973, following the Yom Kippur War, and has since been a strong supporter of the Palestinian cause.
